24" x 30"

This painting came from one of my High Sierra adventures. We rode out from Rock Creek with a packer, a cook, a few other riders, and a hound dog. This image is of a tranquil rest stop at one of the many alpine lakes. Some of the trail was extremely challenging and photography was not possible. We rode one hundred miles on the John Muir section of the Pacific Crest Trail. After seven days in the saddle, I wasn't anywhere near ready to leave there. I revisit these beautiul places while painting my memories.
