Giclée print on canvas
16" x 24"
This knarled old growth redwood stands in Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space preserve. It may have been spared from the clear cutting of the forest because its knarled shape would not make good lumber. After the forest was cut, the slash was burned. The tree is hollow from being burned out and you can walk into it's charcoal walled interior. A magnificent survivor, it lives on at about 1500 years of age.
I painted a deer to stand next to the tree to show its size. You can order this print with or without the deer.
